Two important Byars works, never before exhibited in the United States, symbolize the artist's unending search for beauty and simplicity in materials and form. "The Moon Books" made of carved marble objects on a gilded table correspond to the phases of the moon. And "Eros (15 Moons)" made of cut black tissue is installed on the ceiling, echoing the sculpture below.
