GEORG BASELITZ
Two Sculptures and Works on Paper
31 January through 30 March 2002
UPPER EAST SIDE, NEW YORK

In an interview with the German art historian Siegfried Gohr, Baselitz states that "painters' sculptures are more interesting than sculptors' sculptures". To that end the gallery presents an exhibition of two sculptures, both from 1994, covered with patterned cloth and a group of watercolors emphasizing the gestural line and centrality of color in Baselitz's oeurve.
